Instead of using the plastic sponges, I have started crocheting my own cleaning/washing up pads of hemp/jute twine. It's a bit tough on the hands, but using a large crochet needle and the twine being quite thick, it's ok. I really like the idea that these can be composted when they are worn out, unlike the plastic ones that will live forever and turn into microplastic which will end up in our food chain. Not nice and definitely to be avoided.
Opskrift på hæklet rengøringssvamp i hampegarn
Slå 11 luftmasker op med 4,5 mm hæklenål.Cast on 11 chain stitches using crochet needle 4.5 mm.
Vend og hækl 10 fastmasker - den første i luftmaske nr. 2.
Turn and single crochet 10 stitches back - the first stitch in the second chain stitch.
Vend med 1 luftmaske og hækl 10 luftmasker tilbage - jeg hækler kun in den bagerste kæde for at få så ru et resultat, som muligt. Fortsæt sådan til din svamp har den størrelse, du ønsker.
Turn with one chain stitch and single stitch 10 stitches back - I only crochet in the back chain of the stitch to make the pad as rough as possible. Continue like this until your pad is the preferred size.
God fornøjelse!
Enjoy!
